Want Fuller Lips? See Your Dentist!

In recent years, we have seen a sharp transition away from surgical procedures and toward injectable wrinkle-reducers and tissue-fillers. The use of products such as BOTOX and Juvéderm is the new norm that leads increasing numbers of people to their dermatologist or plastic surgeon for quick rejuvenation. Non-surgical facial rejuvenation is also available in some dental offices. Sindledecker Dentistry is proud to serve patients from the Boca Raton area with exemplary care that includes the use of injectables.
One of the frequent requests our patients have is to enhance the fullness of their lips. Here, we discuss the benefits of lip enhancement as well as the benefit of visiting Dr. Sindledecker for your dermal filler treatment.
One of the benefits of non-surgical lip enhancement versus, say, lip implants is that the results achieved through the use of soft-tissue fillers look natural. Actually, they don’t just look natural; they feel natural. The nuances of dermal filler products have evolved over the years. Today, we’ve got products that are thicker and more supportive of denser tissue. We’ve also got incredibly light fillers that are ideal for use in and around the lips. These soft, creamy products gently fill lines and restore fullness and symmetry without creating firmness.
Because injectable treatments are conducted without a need for anesthesia and incisions, there is virtually no downtime. At the most, some patients may notice slight swelling and redness for a short time after their lip enhancing treatment. The only discomfort associated with this process is the small pinch of injections. After treatment, most patients immediately resume normal activities.
Many of the dermal fillers that are frequently used contain a mild anesthetic that desensitizes nerves very quickly after treatment begins. This detail doesn’t make every patient feel comfortable getting lip enhancement. However. Dr. Sindledecker’s technique might! Instead of relying solely on superficial anesthetic, she performs a dental nerve-block at the onset of treatment, so patients don’t feel a thing.
