Gentle Cleanings

Nothing is better for your teeth and gums than a regular professional cleaning at our office. By removing plaque and tartar, we can prevent the onset of periodontal diseases that can lead to tooth loss later in life. We will also be happy to give you instructions on home care, and how best to avoid serious repairs later. We use topical anesthetics and local anesthetics for very sensitive patients and also use Nitrous Oxide Sedation available for all procedures

We perform a significant number of metal-free restorative dentistry procedures, such as placing porcelain dental crowns. We provide an array of general restorative dental services, which begin with our new patient comprehensive examination, Digital X-rays, and a complete periodontal evaluation. We take great care and time during our new patient experience to welcome you as a patient and to educate you about your dental care. Our visits usually begin with gentle cleanings, and may be followed by deeper cleanings if needed. If necessary a dental treatment plan will be explained in detail and discussed with you.

Periodontal Services

Periodontal disease, or inflammation and infection of the gum tissues, affects nearly half of American adults. It is diagnosed by probing all of the teeth and measuring the space between the teeth and gums pockets). Generally, in a healthy mouth the gums do not bleed, and pockets are less than 3 mm deep. If gums are receding or bleeding or if teeth are loose, we take these factors into consideration in planning effective treatment.. Periodontal disease is often painless. Our initial therapy consists of cleaning, root planning and placement of antibiotics and working with our patients to help them maintain a healthy result. Good fitting crowns and fillings are necessary for periodontal health. If dental work is contributing to the problem, it should be corrected or replaced. Periodontal disease can also cause Halitosis, or bad breath and is another reason to have good dental hygiene, including brushing the teeth, flossing and scraping the tongue to remove tongue plaque. Root Planing

We also provide deeper scaling and root planning cleanings if necessary for patients that may have deeper pockets and periodontal disease. We also use local antibiotic therapy, called Arestin, to kill the bacteria associated with these pockets. We have pain management available for this procedure including a topical “no shot” anesthetic, Oraquix, or more profound anesthesia if needed.

Tooth Colored Fillings

In some cases, our laser allows us not only to perform gum contouring, frenectomies, and aphthous ulcer treatments, but we can also remove small decayed tooth structure and cavities with our laser and minimal need for drilling! Small cavity fillings can be made more comfortable, and have minimal amount of tooth structure removed. In some cases we perform small laser conservative fillings without anesthetic to prevent decay. The best time to treat a cavity is to treat it when it is a small or just forming.

Metal-free Restorations and Porcelain Crowns

Metal-free restorative dentistry is an exciting aspect of our practice. We can replace old silver mercury fillings (amalgam) with metal free tooth colored composite fillings. Now, using ceramic, porcelain, or composite resins, our restorations are beautiful, long-lasting, and natural looking. Dental Bridges

At Sindledecker Dentistry, we can replace missing or decayed teeth in just a few appointments at our office in Boca Raton. Dental bridges are just one of the options we offer to fill the space left by a missing tooth. Aptly named, dental bridges serve to "bridge" the gap left from a missing tooth. By placing crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap, (called abutment teeth), we can attach a false tooth or "pontic" between the two crowns. In some cases, patients may be missing more than one tooth. In these situations, we may make a bridge with two or more pontics between the crowns. The pontics may be created using metals, porcelain, or other ceramics. At our Boca Raton practice, our dental bridges may in some cases be metal-free or using only the highest quality of high noble metals for strength and crafted specifically to fit your smile.

Placing Your Dental Bridges

Dental bridges can be placed in just two visits to our office. During your first appointment, we will prepare your abutment teeth for crowns by buffing off a small bit of enamel so there is room for the crown. We will also create a temporary bridge to make sure your teeth and gums are protected during this time when your restoration is being created. Many temporary bridges are an immediate improvement cosmetically and functionally. With pre planning, and dental laboratory assistance, they can be strong and long lasting through even lengthy treatment to allow you to enjoy normal function and social activities. After your dental bridge has been prepared, you will return to our office, and we will replace your temporary dental bridge with a permanent one. Your new dental bridge will be beautiful, natural-looking, and virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

Dentures and Implant Supported Dentures

After losing a significant number of teeth, full or partial dentures, or artificial teeth, may be used to replace those missing teeth. Dentures are removable appliances crafted to fit your mouth, and much like dental bridges, they can be attached to dental implants. The dentures we prefer to construct in our office are implant supported. THE IMPROVED LEVEL OF PATIENT SATISFACTION with the denture is the reason we only construct our dentures with implant support. We use implants underneath dentures today to help with the retention and fit of uncomfortable dentures that may be moving around. In some cases 4-6 implants can be used under a full denture to make the denture very stable and replace a full arch of missing teeth in a very short time! Over the course of several appointments, we will create full or partial dentures that fit your mouth perfectly, restoring the function of your teeth, such as chewing and speaking, while also maintaining the structure of your face and jaw. Your dentures will be natural-looking, and if you're getting a partial-denture appliance, your dentures will be created to match the color of your remaining teeth. Some dentures and bridges can be placed immediately with CT guided precision placement of implants, pre-planning and pre-fabrication of the temporary prosthesis.
